Olive leaf is a good source of anticancer compounds that apigenin and luteolin, as well as the source of anti-malarial compounds cinchonine. Olive leaf can also act as an anti-inflammatory. Studies in animals have shown that olive leaf extract may prevent nerve damage, so it is good to prevent stroke.

Chris Kilham, ethnobotany expert who studied herbal medicine from the University of Massachusetts Amherst said, in an age of modern medicine as it is today, often found a material that has long been used as traditional medicine, apparently having researched scientifically true to have health benefits. It also occurs in the olive leaf.
